The end of the semester is fast approaching.  Please post your responses to earn credit.

Part 2 and 3: Mobilizing and Designing

Please plan to observe a classroom that implements components of a blended classroom such as Mrs.Moxley, Mrs. Smalling, Mrs. MacDonald, and Mrs. Briles  .  It is your responsibility to make arrangements.  After you have observed a blended classroom , please write a reflection that includes the organization of the classroom, implementation of strategies, station rotations and overall understanding.  Post it to our blog for all to comment .  

Part 4:

Implementing your Understanding

Please arrange for a time for Ana Vazao or Jennifer Jordan to visit your classroom so that we may all learn from each other.  Write a reflection and post on our blog after the classroom visit.

This course offers an opportunity to receive 6 hours of GT update credit through an independent book study.  Blended learning is enabling schools across to personalize learning for all learners.  Participants will read the text, Blended Learning in Action: A Practical Guide toward Sustainable Change.

Course Requirements:

Teachers will be responsible to answer questions and reflect while reading book on blog.  A personnel reflection and a response to a peer will be required.   Participants will also be required to apply a new strategy/learning  in the classroom that benefits their gifted learners, observe classroom instruction and debrief about their experience on blog. All reflections will be posted onto our MDE blog.

In order to receive full credit, all participants will be required to apply a new strategy/learning in their classrooms and reflect about their lesson on the blog.  Course participants will be required to visit other classrooms at MDE, reflect and write a blog entry about their observations and personal growth.  Course facilitator will document and track course requirements.  Credit would be earned on Eduphoria upon completion.  

The course will begin June 13, 2016 through Dec. 16, 2016.

GT 6 hour Update Book Study application


This course offers an opportunity to receive 6 hours of GT update credit through an independent book study.  Participants will read the text, Notice & Note by Beers and Probst about effective Gifted and Talented strategies to implement in the classroom.  Teachers will be responsible for a reflection piece outlining new strategies in order to effectively differentiate instruction for their Gt learners.  They will also be required to apply a new strategy in the classroom that benefits their gifted learners.   All reflections will be posted onto our MDE blog.

How will you differentiate your instruction to meet the needs of your gifted learners?
How will these new strategies benefit your gifted learners?
How will these strategies help your gifted students think and apply new learning?
